[Crymod] Crysis 2 Editor and Free CryENGINE 3 SDK announced! - Page 8

Crytek surely put the whiners back in their basements with this move. Most of them wouldnt have bought the game anyway.

Mod tools are a far superior addition than some microsoft direct x gimmick.I dont know if the sdk exposes the dx11 features of the engine yet.

I personally thought it was an average game. Didn't blow my mind like Crysis Uno did. Crysis 1 set the bar quite high, and while Crysis 2 is fun to play, won't knock that at all, and is visually appealing, it feels more restrictive, more linear.. idk maybe I'm way off... it didn't bring anything of "Shock and Awe" value to me like Crysis 1 did

All in all, haters gonna hate, fanbois gonna fanboi out... and the typical OCN day continues.
lol tru dat!
but think about it this way, its a CITY. much less places to roam around there! Crysis 1 took place in a jungle, so its clear that C2 feels more linear.
still, they could have allowed more areas to move around. when i saw barriers i kinda threw up a little.
still, i enjoyed the game, AND THATS WHAT MATTERS.

DX11 isnt needed as much. what crysis 2 needs is BETTER TEXTURES.
then we could (possibly) mod in more destructable environments & DX11, since the engine fully supports it.
tesselated tiles and cracks HERE I COME

No, wait up, cry3engine has a trick up its sleeve for that, it can port games between platforms seamlessly. Technically any map made in the cry3engine could be loaded up onto the PC, PS3 or xbox 360... how well they run on the other hand is up to the developers

If it can achieve the same awesomeness like this then I might buy the game:

You can dress up a three legged dog to look like a pudel but it will still be a failure when you see what it does besides looking adorable.
Crysis 2 runs on three legs thanks to the dumbed down physics and controls.

It's now 05:45 and therefore Good Friday.
Happy Easter.

I wonder if anyone will be able to successfully port crysis 1 and warhead to cryengine 3. If they do one or the other, i hope they do warhead. was muchmore fun and the graphics were better, imo.

There's a url at the bottom of the image. Besides I vaguely recall that it's someone's uni project and not an actual playable level with enemies etc... Anyway it demonstrates what CE2 is capable of. If CE3 has raised the bar it is not evident in Crysis 2.
