We want DX11 to stop being used as a gimmick and start being used the central feature of games because it's more efficient than DX9 >_>

There in lies the problem with Crysis 2. It's a DX failure either way.

That said, it's still very pretty.

If that is true, I am gonna cry and also be ....
It'd make sense in a way, since udk has a few followers and so does unity, this would def be a way to attract people.
I have a feeling that crysis 2 was a benchmark...example of cryengine 3.

I feel like the way crytek has been promoting cryengine 3 they want it to become to the gaming industry what unreal engine was.

That's the only explanation I can think of as to why crysis 2 has so many silly glitches.

When was the last time a game in development for 3 years or so has that many glitches? I think they spent at least 50%-75% of their time building cryengine 3. And that crysis 2 came after that, whether as an actual game or a showcase is yet to be seen.

When was the last game you saw that showed off the logo of it's game engine before playing it?

notice that the supposed release date for this game engine is around the same time when they are gonna release dx11 support.

The Crysis 2 menu theme song sounds terribly whiny and repetitive, just like the AWFUL SF4 theme.

I feel the exact opposite. To me the theme song is exciting, epic and suspenseful all rolled into one.

I've got +200 hrs into Crysis 2 and I've yet to get tired of it.

Why are people talking about crysis 2? The big news is the SDK being released. You guys may not see the significance of this but I do, this is a massively big thing for the PC games industry. Crytek may have made an average game but they've made a brilliant engine which they are releasing for free.

This is the start of the rising of the PC again, indie devs and big game companies alike will start using the cry3engine and we will see games that can start using the PC to its fullest potential.
