Minute you get up Tuesday morning, haul butt to Best Buy and check it out.

I have school in the morning :/ but after I'm going with my friend to Bestbuy/sears/walmart/officemax/officedepot/staples and checking out the BB PB and the ASUS transformer, then going to the checkout line and picking up hopefully the transformer if A. I don't fall in love with the blackberry playbook in that time which could happen
B. Everyone on earth decides the ASUS is actually a great tablet and rushed to buy one, leaving me with nothing.

Well, I've got work, but I will surely stop by Best Buy after work. And I'll likely sit on it for a while longer, because I hard-coded the idea of waiting for someone else to test the first generation of new technology. It's also why I refuse to buy a brand new car, and especially not on the first model year a car is released.

Surprised this thread is still up, there was some tablet bashing in it, Chunky Chimp isn't a fan of on topic criticism of products... or is that just Apple products Chunky?

Would this be able to play 1080P mkv movies onto a 1080P tv through HDMI without lag?

I haven't really kept up with portable PC technology and cant find any proper reviews of Tegra 2 from quick google search so i dont know what type of performance we are talking.

You realize a touchpad is just a HID like a mouse, right? If it has the drivers to use the touchpad built in to the dock then it has the drivers to operate a mouse.

Tegra 3 with quad-core is going to support 1080p.

Or another argument... why use a laptop when you can use a desktop replacement or a desktop? Or why use a laptop when you can use a portable DVD player?

Different form factor, different market, different uses.
QFT. I find that my ipad's 10 hour battery is way more than a days use. Unlike a laptop, I can hibernate the ipad instantly and wake it up instantly so the battery doesn't drain. Anyone who thinks laptops are portable has probably never used an ipad (or xoom) for an extend use of time.

The only times I use my laptop is when my ipad is taken away from me . For everything intensive I use my $2,000 dollar desktop.

any $500 laptop is really a $500 piece of poo.

In one of the videos I posted on an earlier page the reviewer states that it will play 1080p (he even demonstrates it), but .mkv's are not supported at the moment. But the reviewer did say that with some time, apps will be developed to play .mkv files.

Mobo Player could do it. Plays .mkv videos along with its embedded subtitles and audio tracks.

Can't wait to play with the Transformer tomorrow at Best Buy.
