Hi im new here, and since this is all my first build i would like to ask, is overclocking my g.skill ddr2 ram from 800 to 1000 or 1200mhz really worth it?

Depends what you do
Lowering the timings (without increasing speed) can provide the same effect and may be easier though
But of course nothing can be guaranteed

Thanks for the reply, I will try that. And since i see you have an X6, any way i can just turn turbocore off? AOD does not work with my bios.

You'll see no real world performance in overclocking the RAM from 800-1000mhz. It's not like you'll suddenly get +10fps in every game and reduce boot/program load times by 20% either.

Turbocore can be turned off in the BIOS
Getting more RAM speed (especially on DDR2 where bandwidth may be smaller) can provide benefit in some apps, it can also result in a small (and sometimes noticeable) all-around improvement in loading times (i.e. app loading times, app loading times when app is superfetched to memory)
