I think they are at the point where they could get it up... but it makes more sense to analyse the intrusion and prevent it from happening again.

Since Anon called off their attacks so that Geohot and Sony can settle, I'd say there is a lack of motive on Anon's part for this. In that, I'd say this outage isn't caused by Anon. If I was going to look for a culprit, I'd start with the fact that Portal 2 came out last week and it is the first game to introduce Steam to the PS3.

I love how Microsoft responded to the down network haha

In my opinion, we need more companies to start talking about each other.

I have been watching netflix all weekend despite the maintenance.

I load it (the app version not the disc), it asks for my PSN info twice, hit O to back out each time. Then it loads into the queue.

From there, I choose whichever, prior to the "maintenance" I have been watching Numb3rs, so I don't know if it has it cached or something, but I am able to watch those episodes. I haven't tried anything else.

Same with my brother's PS3, same routine, and just watching that same show.

Really sucks. I'm trying to get my buddy to activate his Portal 2 Steam version, but he can't without linking his account on PSN first.

I'm a patient person, so I can wait for PSN to back online. What's frustrating is, people complaining towards Sony for this problem. There's probably a lot on their plate at the moment, and the last thing they need is fans threatening to sell their PS3, or never buy a Sony product again, because the "fans" cannot wait for a whole weekend (or more) until this has been fixed.

I know certain games have come out that PS3 gamers have been urging to play, but come on, it's not that big of a deal in the long run.

I'd appreciate it if Sony would let the PS Plus users have the days added for what they have consumed, same goes for DC Universe Online fans.

I know you are waiting for additional information on when PlayStation Network and Qriocity services will be online. Unfortunately, I don’t have an update or timeframe to share at this point in time.

As we previously noted, this is a time intensive process and we’re working to get them back online quickly. We’ll keep you updated with information as it becomes available. We once again thank you for your patience.

Latest updated I have read from Sony. Also have read at a few places that Sony still doesn't know if our Credit Card information and such has been taken or collected. Sony needs better PR.

It is a pretty large deal. The lack of communication from Sony is making the situation a lot worse than it probably is. Searches for the problem is bringing up all sorts of reasons they may or may not be true because we have little confirmed info from Sony. I have no clue when the network will be back up. Next week maybe?

An even greater concern is the possibility of this happening again. They called Anon attacks annoying. I don't think taunting them was a smart move. For all we know it may not even be Anon(Anon claims it's not). Sony has apparently gained the wrong type of attention in protecting their system and I don't believe that their going to give up once Sony gets the new PSN online.

All this means Sony is being forced to use lots of resources toward protecting their PSN instead of providing more content for their gamers.

This is how I've been doing it. Works on everything I wanted to see.
