Additionally, IGN has learned that the system will be based on a revamped version of AMD's R700 GPU architecture, not AMD's Fusion technology as previously believed, which will, as previously reported, out perform the PlayStation 3's NVIDIA 7800GTX-based processor. Like the Xbox 360, the system's CPU will be a custom-built triple-core IBM PowerPC chipset, but the clocking speeds will be faster. The system will support 1080p output with the potential for stereoscopic 3D as well, though it has not been determined whether that will be a staple feature.

Clocking speeds are going to be faster then 3.2GHz?
I'm hoping for games on this new console to actually be in 1080P, and not just upscaling to it.

Consoles were never meant to output 1080p for all game even though a handful are rendered in 1080p natively.

Any game will look terrible on low graphics settings even if you are rendering 2-4 mega-pixels.

I would rather have graphics features over resolution as this is the #1 reason why games look good in the fist place.

What I've taken from this and the previous article and another article...

-backwards compatibility with both the Wii (including all peripherals) and GameCube games
-Custom-built triple-core IBM PowerPC chipset, -- faster speeds then Xbox 360 CPU
-Support 1080p - stereoscopic 3D Potential
-Based on Revamped RV700 GPU architecture - not AMD Fusion tech
-Potential Size of a 360 -- Possible look of a modernized SNES
-Better bluetooth/wireless connection?
-6" Touchscreen embedded in controllers, front-facing camera, D-Pad, two bumpers, two triggers and "possibly more," and can allegedly be used as a Wii sensor bar - possibly virtualization?
-Possible release of late 2011, early 2012?

How I reacted:
-I need new pants, and a prepared wallet smile.gif

Along with the fact that Nintendo is now being more open with third-party developers and everything, if Nintendo succeeds in this, they will no doubt have big potential to make large profit turns before the next Sony and Microsoft consoles come about.

Did you all forget that Nintendo does not produce enough games? How much longer will Mario, Zelda, Donkey Kong stick around for? They are amazing games but damn its sad how much risk they avoid taking. I think its pathetic how many people bought the Wii while it was over priced. Its worth only $99 in my book.

It doesn't matter.

indeed, PS - Sell your PHysx card your two 480's dont need it and why add the extra power/heat to something that barely gets used and simply doesnt need it.
