Just put the CD in that came with your motherboard, and see where it goes from there.

However, you're probably not using that Marvell controller so disable it in the BIOS and then see what happens. At the very worst, you'll have to re-enable it which is just as easy as disabling it.

I installed the 266.58 nVidia drivers, restarted, and had a black login screen, along with the empty windows desktop

restart in safe mode... then rollback the driver
or
restart in safe mode... and see if windows created a restore point prior to the driver install
or
if restarting in safe mode doesn't bring your desktop back... boot off cd and see if you can do a system restore through there

i use the 260 drivers for my video cards... the 266 gives me problems especially while folding
