youd benifit more from a better cpu or gpu rather than more ram. unless you are doing hardcore multiple rendering + server + photoshop etc at the same time as gaming, i highly doubt you will ever need more than you have.

4gb memory minimum now days, Go with 2x4GB 8gb kit, also they are very cheap price you can get decent 8gb kit under $100 or less.

I have over 60+ firefox tab open my ram usage hit around 2.66gb out 8gb just for that and if i play bf2bc2 easily hit around 4 gig marks, if open other programs I use everyday my ram usage peak around 6 gig out 8 gigs

Unless you're doing media editing (photos, videos, etc), 8GBs of RAM is definitely more than enough. On my computer, the only time I get close to 8GBs is when I'm batch-editing my photos. Gaming brings my RAM usage nowhere close to the ceiling.

I'd definitely put the $100 to upgrading your GPU. If you want to buy used, you can easily grab a GTX 260 216SP for that price.

Also depends on your skill with OCing.

Unless you are doing video/picture editing or virtualization I would just s tick with 8GB. The only reason I have 8gb is because I'm going to run some virtual machines, but 4gb is more than enough for me w/o that.
