Honestly, I say no. Replayability isnt there. A friend and I beat Co-op (the first time) in 4 hours. We took our time to check out the levels but after we beat it... whats there to do. SP moves rather rapidly and all I get is a beanie. so 50 bucks for 8 hours of play? You decide

I find it hard to believe that the single-player campaign only took you 4 hours on your first play-through.

EDIT: And also, outside of the issue of play-time, you did not mention at all, any sort of enjoyment garnered through playing the game. Did you not find it humorous? Or did you play with the sound off? I feel as though dictating the worth of a game, solely by play time, is an absolute waste.

Had Portal not been addicting, the 6-8 hours it took me would have normally only been accomplished in 2 weeks. And as of late, this is the first game I've purchased that I have honestly enjoyed, and would be willing to play through again. Part of that is for the humor, part is to beat my own times, and to see if I can come up with other methods of solving earlier puzzles.

In my opinion it isn't worth it. I haven't played the game yet but Portal 1 was released with 2 other full games in one package for the cost of Portal 2. If you can hold out I'd wait until it costs $20. In my opinion single player games aren't worth the full price.

Point being that it doesnt have to be long to be good. I wasnt saying that if it is long, then it is bad.

It was absolutely funny. But that isnt everything. I also look at replayability. Make it so that you dont play through EVERY level your first time through that each time you play you may see atleast 1 new level or something. I mean, I look at CS,CSCZ,CSS, and that I still to this day continue to jump between them all, money well spent IMO. Just because its fun doesnt mean that impression lasts long after you played it through.

For someone like me, I have a visual memory. If I go back and replay the levels, Ill do it twice as fast, and without thinking because I remember what to do, whers the fun in that. 1 run through is all you get for 50 bucks? Lame. I want something that lasts longer than 8 hours, hell CS 1.6 has lasted me 6+ years for less money. Day of Defeat gives me more lasting joy than Portal 2 did. That you can put a price tag on, and 50 bucks for Portal 2, not worth it.
