I doubt that its better than Portal, HL:EP2, and TF2 all combined........Portal was an incredible game too but definitely not worth $50 as it doesn't have online multiplayer which Portal 2 doesn't have either.

I see your point, but I will raise you this: You're comparing two completely different genres. Yes, Portal 2 is first person, and technically, you have a gun, but it is NOT an FPS. Portal 2 is a puzzle game, most of which are only as long (or, as quick) as the brain that solves them.

CS may have lasted you 6 years, but that game is completely built around multiplayer. I am not saying that your opinion of this game is wrong, so, let me ask you this:

Would it be fair to say that you enjoy a competitive element to your games, which allows you to pit yourself against ever-changing people? Portal 2 does not offer you this, and as such, I would agree with you, that for your own taste, this was not the best fit.

A game built around puzzles is only going to last as long as the puzzles take you to crack.

Sorry if that was ranting / repetitive, its late and I'm tired.

I look at most things like they are a puzzle. Figuring out the right angle, searching for patterns in play, strats. It all uses the brain. FPS do give me other joys as well but I like how they make me use my brain too. I guess I just look at things differently. Dont just assume people compare apples to oranges randomly because they are ignorant. I break things down to simply what I get from each game. I played wow for 6 years too, I compare the joy I got with FPS's, and puzzle games because its about the joy of playing, not comparing mechanics of different game genres. Simply put, break it down to joy, 8 hours of joy to me doesnt = 50 bucks.

Portal had around 3-4 hours max of gameplay.

I've put in 12 hours into portal 2 so far and had an absolute blast. I just finished it. (SP & MP)

I would also imagine valve will be releasing DLC for the co op for free periodically. Dont forget user created content for co op aswell.

The tone of your posts towards the game have changed, a bit, since this first post. My whole point in asking more pointed questions is trying to draw more out about your experience with the game. For me, what you got out of the game, as far as how enjoyable the game is, has a much greater effect for determining the worth of a game.

By no means did I intend for you to feel as though I was implying you were ignorant. We are all gamers, so of course bringing in other games you enjoy is acceptable. Sorry if I offended you.
