4770 Vs 9800GT Akimbo

Title says it all. Im looking for a new CHEAP GPU for a spare rig my friends use when they stay over. I currenly have a 9600GT or a 3870. But Im looking for something just a little better. What would be the better deal?

A XFX 4770 That my friend can sell me for 40.

Or a EVGA 9800GT Akimbo off tigerdirect for 55 dollars?

Keep in mind I'm using an old antec 550watt PSU so anything hight is kinda pushing it.

Found a thread on this seems the 4770 is better and is comparable to a 9800GTX+. Games would run better on the 4770 but folding would be better on the Nvida card and it has Physics where as the ATI card does not.

Well I can just run the 9600GT with the physx mod if I needed physx. And folding wouldnt be used on this PC. Awesome work.... I really need to start searching before I clog up the forums with dual posts.

The HD 4770 is a much better deal. It'll perform better and put less stress on your PSU.

Now im wondering if I might be able to run both 4770s he has. From what I see they use almost nothing

The 4770 is a good deal faster. It's close to a GTS250.
It's also pretty power efficient, as it is one of the first 40nm graphics cards
