i5 2500k SB VS my 955BE at stock clocks?

Hey guys. I'm building a second computer. And wanted to know how the i5 2500k Sandy Bridge and P67 Sabertooth combo are compaired to my current set up(using that mobo/cpu with 8 gig's ram and my SSC 460) Wanting to take my gaming rig up a notch or two. Nvidia is my prefrence so I think I'm going to try an Intel for the first time ever and SLI my 460 or jump to a 5XX SLI set up when the 6XX's come out. Thanks for your time.

According to Anandtech, the i5-2500k beats the 955 BE pretty handily in almost everything at stock clocks. I think it just gets wider as the clocks rise. I've got my AMD CPU / Mobo up for sale because I'm moving into a SB setup to try it out and see what everyone is raving about.

Thanks.

Not another one of these 2500k v. [Chip from AMD] threads...

2500k will donkey slap anything from AMD... Even the non-k CPUs are better.

You likely won't notice a dramatic difference in every day tasks as even your 955 is "good enough" but for what you have planned, you should enjoy a nice increase

Thank you guys! those where the responce's I was hoping to see!+rep!
Also would a 2600k SB be worth the extra chash for a gaming rig?? or is it total overkill?? once I get everything sorted out I do plan to do some sort of 24/7 OC for gaming if that matters. nothing to extrem i'm thinking maby 3.8 or so, wanna try to keep voltage down:)
