Best Laptop for Gaming as of April 2011? - Page 2

Just don't get a 17"+, so huge and heavy to lug around. And I would suggest any of Alienware's laptops or Asus ROG. They never let me down. Good luck!

Stay away from Dell. I sent $3,256.00 dollars on a Dell 17 Inch XPS Gen 2, and it fried both the CPU, and the GPU several times over.

I've heard some great things about this laptop:
http://www.msimobile.com/level3_prod...x?cid=6&id=255

It has a mobile 5870, 6GB's of ram, a 1080p monitor, 7.1 sound, good built in speakers, a 1 touch OC button, blue ray, and a mobile i7 processor.
Don't be expecting the GPU to preform like a desktop 5870, it's a mobile version, but it will still preform better than really any other laptop on the market.

I've been quite happy with my G73-JH-A1 (i7 720QM & 5870.)
It's big, with the 17in and all, but who tries to game on battery anyway? If I'm close to an outlet, I'm close to a table. I think of it as a portable gaming desktop, and it's amazing in that sense.

That's a reason why I don't worry too much about battery life. As long as it will last at least a decent amount of time if I can't get an outlet then I'm happy. If I stay in one spot for a while I usually plug it in. I had a 17" Sony VAIO with a WUXGA monitor and don't get me wrong, I loved it. But for college I definitely would have liked a smaller laptop, it just weighed too much.

I have had an Alienware and Asus both. You also have to take cooling into effect. As my 5850M can easily hit past 5870M speeds.
