Dual monitor set up help

Thread Starter
So I am building a new setup. Havent done so in many years and I was wondering what to go with. I am getting an EVGA 02G-P3-1386-KR GeForce GTX 460 (Fermi) 2GB 256-bit GDDR5 PCI Express 2.0 x16 HDCP Ready SLI Support Video Card and two full hd 22" monitors.

The card is compatible with dual monitors but am I going to experience issues when stressing the graphics card with just one or will they each need their own?

Both monitors running on just one card will be just fine.

thank you

Two monitors won't be a problem on one graphics card, even if you run max or near max settings on most games out there today (if you're a gamer).

This only happens with sli enabled so if you decide to get 2 460's. you will have a temp difference between cards. The second card won't downclock to 2d clocks and will run about 7-10 degrees hotter.

So long as both displays are the same resolution, there will be zero trouble. It will run a little higher clocks to run them, but not much higher. If they aren't the same resolution, it will run at 3d clocks the whole time.
