These are the cheapest, quality 80PLUS Gold PSUs available (not counting the recent sales on SeaSonic X650 and X750--those are going to end in a month or two). They manage to achieve high efficiency with relatively low silicon cost by using the rarely used active clamp forward topology, which FSP spent several years tweaking for the highest efficiency.

Performance is average, build quality slightly above average. These aren't anything special for an enthusiast PSU, but if you want a high-efficiency, quiet PSU for an HTPC or mid-range gaming PC then these are the poor man's SeaSonic X.

Not that really good. Corsair actually has better amps than these but then again i could be wrong but it doesn't have enough cables imo. Cheap for a gold version though wow.

What, like the CX430 with a 28A +12V rail vs the 400W Aurum with a 32A +12V rail?

These aren't meant to compete with the Corsair AX series. These are sitting just above the Corsair TXv2 series and should come down in price soon. Once they come to price parity with the Corsair TXv2 and VX series then it will come down to performance vs. efficiency, and for rigs that won't be overclocked efficiency will win.
