With 3x landscape, you have a resolution of for example 5760x1200, providing a massive FOV

With 3x portrait, you have for example a resolution of 3600x1920, not having a huge FOV, BUT games are going to look AMAZING because of the high resolution.

Ahh I see. And I take it the skewing is less because the FOV is lower? Isn't there some issue with human eyesight how we look directly center and don't see up/down very well but see side/side better ? Does this come into affect?

Yeah, with 3x portrait, there's roughly the same amount of skewing as with a single 16:9 display, depending on the aspect ratio of the portrait mode monitors though. This is assuming that they are either 16:10 or 16:9

Yeah the portrait vs landscape is preference. You know how landscape works already, very immersive. If you have 3x portrait mode 24" monitors, it's gonna be just like a 42" TV with a huge huge resolution making it look better than the 42" TV.

You decide which you prefer.

Basically, from my experience, landscape is more immersive, but portrait mode feels like you are actually THERE on the scene doing the stuff in game, since it looks so real and big.

Ahhh. So portrait is going to be like if I moved my TV over, cept it's going to look tons better. Where FOV landscape I might want to curve the monitors for periph etc.

Interesting choice.

Get 3x 24". If you end up not enjoying eyefinity, you can still enjoy the desktop space.

Besides, if you get monitors that can do portrait mode, you can go portrait eyefinity and do 3240x1920 for 1080p monitors and 3600x1920 for 1920x1200 monitors. That plus bezel compensation.
Based on what you've said above... anyone have ideas on the monitors I'm looking to buy for eyefinity?

I'm looking into getting 3x these monitors:

Asus VE278Q - 27" LED with moderately thin bezels
1920 x 1080

Is it worth going to 27" with that resolution? or should I stick to a smaller screen size, like 24", at that res?

Depends on if you'd like the large size or not. In the end, it's not a really huge difference.

But your sig says 2x I-inc 28"

Why not just get a third one?

The bezels on these are gigantic making them less than desirable for eyefinity. Not to mention they take up so much desk space.

Okay

Well what do you think? Do you want 24" or 27"? 27" would be rather close to your current ones. Just as wide, if the 27" would be 16:9 and your current 16:10

Do you want to lose the deskspace? Do you mind losing the size?

Guess it doesn't seem too bad to go with the 27" then. I'll be able to fit the three of them and actually be able to do proper eyefinity. Ill be keeping the original monitors around in case lol

Stick to three 16:10 monitors, man. That extra space at the top and bottom really adds to the overall feel.
