That's the thing, getting this all setup is a pain and takes a TON of troubleshooting and patience. It took me at least a couple hours to get it all setup. I think I uninstalled/installed the game at least six times until I finally just made several backups of the game using various patches, mods, etc. It would have taken much longer if I didn't have a SSD too.

I now have a new issue too. The lack of AA with all these new textures has made it where I see jagged lines on everything. ENBSeries can add a hacked version of AA but that introduces all sorts of new problems. (Depending on my settings I either get low FPS or horrible micro-stuttering as shown in the OP's video)

I officially give up. I'd be surprised to see AA run smoothly on a 980x and sli 580's even.

The secret to getting this to work, if you have steam, is to install all patches. Then after each mod, reinstall patch 1.0.7. That's what worked for me.

I found a link to Visual Mod 1.7.5 after a little digging a couple nights ago.

http://www.speedyshare.com/files/276...alIV_1.7.5.rar

I also wouldn't recommend using ENBSeries 0.082 (0.82).

GTA4 0.082 Beta - limited temporary version (removed, the reason is possible videocard corruption)
I'll add both to the OP.

The car pack shouldn't cause it to crash as other people are using it with no problems.

One thing to check for those using 1.0.4.0 with ENB, make sure Afterburner isn't running as that causes it to crash when the save game loads. Not sure if it is the same with 1.0.7.0 but it took me ages to figure out what was causing the crash

You remind me of myself. Last two weeks I've been trying to set this ENB right and I'm unable to do it, installed game like 30+ times thus backup , mixing overwriting files, etc...in the end I end up with clean install tired of this. I make it work but I'm unable to change game settings like resolution, view dist, texture quality, etc..in game... it's quite annoying and painful. I don't have good experience and I'm trying it to work on 1007 patch... without any other game moods...

ENB is easy to install, you just copy the files to your GTA directory. Use the enbseries file to change the resolution and the rest you can change ingame.

Yeah well it did, I uninstalled the car pack and the game no longer crashes, proof enough for me, I don't use afterburner so we can rule that one out in my case

I'm gonna give that car pack a go this arvo, the cars in it look better anyway, there's also a 'taxi spawn bug' fix included so that's cool cause I've got that big (sooooo many taxis)

You can edit the AA upscaling in the enbseries.ini, 0.87 is recommended for good performance with little difference in quality.

I've got mine set to 0.64, it's a nice balance and runs pretty well
