Will the phenom II x6 1055t 125 watt work on M3N78-VM motherboard. In the cpu support list it says that only the 95 watt will work. Please help me out. Because I want to buy one.

Unfortunately not mate, sorry.

The 1055T is socket AM3, which is not backwards compatible with AM2+ unfortunately.

I know that my motherboard supporta CPUs up to 140W.
And the AMD Phenom II are designed to work with in Motherboar Stocket AM2 +
I wonder if I can and put the Phenom II x6 1055T 125W.
For the ASUS website mentions the Phenom II x6 1055T 95W and do not mention the Phenom II x6 1055T 125W for this motherboard.
And since the M3N78-VM supports the Phenom II x6 1055T 95W, I think it will also support the 125W model.
I wanted the answer from someone who had already tried to do this before.

PS: other motherboars stocket with ASUS AM2+ support the Phenom x6.

Hello there, I currently have the exact same motherboard with you plus the same cpu.
And I've been thinking a lot about upgrading my CPU right now..

I'd love to put a 1035T 95W or 1055T 95W on my system so that I make it to the 4GHz mark.. but I've been searching for days and it's still nowhere to buy in europe.. This makes me feel that my only worth upgrading option is the Phenom X4 965 BE.. I know it's a good processor but unfortunately I'm in love with the X6 idea.. so I wanna make sure there's no way of getting one of those before abandoning it..

So I'd like to ask if you actually did this upgrade and tried the 1055T 125W on this motherboard.. M3N78-VM successfully. Has anybody tried it and see successful or unsuccessful results? Support list still says no.. but has anyone tried it?

Even if you somehow managed to install it on the motherboard, the VRMs on the motherboard would literally catch fire the second you used a program that uses all the cores. The VRMs on that board cannot handle 6 cores, period.

But they can handle them (6 cores) when they run at 95W?
I really don't quite understand that..

The ASUS manufacturer says that this specific board can handle CPUs that need up to 140W of power. Also the Phenom II 1055T x6 95W version is already fully supported by this board. Now.. why shouldn't the 125W be?

They are lying, they can't. Many manufacturers say their older boards can support Hex-cores with a bios update and are supported, but in reality the old low quality VRMs cannot handle the load. That board has either 3 or 4 phase VRM setting, 6/8 is minimum.
