Water Cooling 2x 5770 and 1156 i7

Hey Overclock community,

I'm new to this site, so if I do something wrong don't kill me right away.

I have an idea of what might be a decent water cooling loop. I could be wrong though and I'm looking for suggestions/opinions/comments, whatever input any one has to offer.

Parts in question for water cooling:
cpu: 1156 i7 overclocked @3.49 at 1.181V at load temps are 54C.
video card: 2X XFX HD5770 overclocked @ 801MHz at 1.125V. load temps at 70C.

Right now the cpu has the h50 cooling the cpu with decent cooling ability and my video cards just have stock coolers. With summer coming and the fact I'm not done overclocking this machine I want to get into some massive water cooling.

The setup I'm thinking of putting into my 850D case is a dual 120rad (Black Ice GTX Xtreme 240 Radiator) at the top of the case, a single 140 (Black Ice GT Xtreme 140 Radiator) at the intake fan at the bottom of the case. I read somewhere that a rule of thumb for water cooling is to have at 120mm per heat source. So, following that, I have 3 heat sources.

The rest is a pump/ res combo that'll fit in the 5.25 bays (XSPC X2O 750 Dual 5.25†Bay Reservoir Pump). For the water block for the cpu EK supreme acetal, at least it seems to be a good choice. for the water block for the gpu's I don't even have a clue what to pick.

Everything will 1/2" barbs and the tubing I have decided either 1/2" or 7/16".
For the flow I made a diagram in paint giving the general idea what I think would be good. http://i261.photobucket.com/albums/i...erflowIdea.jpg

Any comments, suggestions about anything, the products to flow chart would be extremely appreciated. I'm hoping once I get some kind of water system going I can push the cpu past 4.0GHz.

If I were you, I'd do a bit of modding and put a XSPC RX480 in the top of the case.

Also, I wouldn't go with that pump/res. You'd be better off with either a D5 or DDC pump, which are sold as Swiftech's MCP655 and 355 respectively. XSPC makes bay reservoirs for both, so it won't change the loop layout.

The EK Supreme HF is a good CPU block choice. Regarding the GPUs, though, I would almost recommend upgrading to a 6*** card and just buy one block for it. I'm not sure if you can find any full-cover blocks for XFX's 5770s.

And one last thing - take a look at this log.

Thanks for the the info. I was looking at that log this morning. Gives me more to think about. I like that rad choice better, cheaper and my guess is less stress on the pump?
I'll be posting with me setup after I make up my mind.

Not worth it to water cool 5770's.
The CrossfireX performance is worth it though.

If you haven't bought them I suggest a 5870 perhaps, a 1GB 6950.

I wouldn't and didn't water cool my HD 5770's,Because you are going to want to replace them in a year or so.That's why I wouldn't water cool them.

So I decided to take every ones advice and upgrade my cards to a 6950, if I'm going to water cool. I'm thinking this card: http://www.newegg.com/Product/Produc...82E16814127555 ye? ne?

The only reason I thought of water cooling the 5770 is because they turn into fireballs in a few games.
