What this man said. You UK guys think he's going to be complaining about 15-20 megabit?

Can't wait to begin seeing "neighborhood" WiFi groups banding together to save $ on internet. Sure the connection will be pretty slow with 20 - 30 users connected, but not everyone needs crazy speeds.

As long as people know how to properly encrypt their connections, this may be a pretty big win all-around.

Try having time warner, I only get 5mbps. the 15mbps package is like 50 bucks more than what i am paying.

Anyways, this is ment for people who do not need the speed, I know of plenty of small neighborhoods that would love to have this.

Fixed. I really dislike it when people call government programs "free", as it disillusions the entire context of how the government gets the money to pay for such things.

Anyways, back on topic, this would be a whole lot better than a 3G network for connections, and on par with the currently 3.9G networks that are being rolled out, in regards to data transfer speed.

You say that as if you think that the american government gets money from average joe's taxes, newsflash mate, americans don't pay taxes to their government on anything except import and export.

What is with all these "mates" coming into this thread? My head is starting to hurt from all the rock-**** retarded people today. Time to log off. Oh, if only it wasn't raining and 35 degrees outside.

Don't make it political.

Free as in low priced, easy/cheap to deploy.

Of course, almost nothing is truly free but this is not the time or place to argue this point.

This sounds great

can't for it to hit the uk

instead of SHDSL with loops for places that can't get broadband.
