Well with $700 the best that you can afford is the system I wrote for you on this page, which is quite decent and leaves room for future improvement... But if you up your budget to $750 you can get an i5 2500k.
Started at 500 then went 600,700, now 750. Oh well I basically can use all the items you guys suggested for a 2500k build just need to find a budget Mobo that supports CrossFire

As I already said, you can fit a Western Digital Caviar Blue 500GB + the Corsair Nova 32GB SSD into the budget. The total for the rig is $698. You will be able to go Sandy Bridge with no compromises if you up the budget to $750. I'll post the AMD build again since you weren't here:

Sony Optiarc DVD+RW Drive w/ LightScribe: $23

LIAN Li Lancool PC-K58W Case: $70

ASUS M4A79XTD EVO:$109

Sapphire Radeon HD 5850: $140

Antec TruePower New 650W: $80

Team Xtreem Dark 4GB DDR3 1600MHz: $48

AMD Phenom II X4 925: $115

Corsair Nova 32GB SSD: $65

Western Digital Caviar Blue 500GB: $40

Subtotal: $689
Total: $698

Cooler won't fit into the budget, but the jump in system responsiveness from an SSD is gonna be great. If you don't care for the SSD, get a Samsung Spinpoint F3 1TB for $55. Total with that and without SSD would be $648. Add in the Cooler Master Hyper 212+ for $27 and total is $675.
as much as I want to stay at 700 it just seems pretty retarded for me not to spend the xtra 50$ or so at this point.

That motherboard would be the MSI P67A-G43 (B3) which also supports full crossfire.

Here it is:

CPU and motherboard*: Intel i5 2500k and MSI P67A-G43 (B3): $330 ($320 after rebate)
RAM: G.SKILL 4GB: $48
GPU: Sapphire Radeon HD 5850: $140
HHD: Samsung 1TB F3 Spinpoint: $55
DVD Drive: Samsung SH-S223C DVD+RW Drive: $20
Case: Rosewill CHALLENGER: $55 OR CM HAF 912:$50 with rebate ($60 without)
PSU: Antec TruePower New TP-650 650W: $80
Cooler: : $27

Total: $754 ($744 after rebate)

*LOL Wut Axel found the combo

Well, ever since the beginning I've been clear: I set the max. at $700 from the beginning. If you can go $750, you can get a 2500K build with a motherboard featuring CrossFire for the price.

Take the AMD build, and change:

Phenom II and Motherboard for Core i5 2500K + MSI P67A-G43 Motherboard: $329

SSD+500GB HDD for Samsung Spinpoint F3 1TB

Total is $750. Of course, this is all if you want to go higher. The AMD build is great for the price and you get the added benefit of either an SSD or a good air cooler.

Good, but look at mine now LOL. I was able to squeeze a Spinpoint F3 1TB into the price. The case is better, too. If he drops down to the 500GB and to the case you mentioned, he can get an air cooler. On stock voltage the 2500K goes to 4GHz, though, and the included cooler can handle it.

I think OP should just go for the AMD build, LOL. We're giving him tons of options and he could become confused as to what he should get.

EDIT: just saw he can go to $750. Go Sandy Bridge and don't look back. If you buy the combo I listed, you'll save $20 and be able to get a Samsung Spinpoint F3 1TB. Go that route.

Nice find. But essentially you just found a combo and saved $20 and put that on the HDD. Also, he still has to get my case if he wants a 3rd party cooler.

Sorry I didnt notice that till now. all my 2500k builds have been 850+ so I just over looked that. I know how to put a computer together and to pick parts that are compatible, but far as deals and knowing good stuff from bad stuff thats all new to me. I basically go on hear say and trying to read reviews, this will be my first build too btw =/

Well if you get the Rosewill Challenger or the HAF 912, both of which are great cases, you can get the cooler. The setup we came up with on this page is fantastic and will give you extreme performance.

Congratulations on your first awesome build.

Okay, then. Look at post 65 and get the combo deal I mentioned with the Spinpoint F3 1TB and the air cooler if you drop down to an HAF 912. If you want a better case, get the Lian Li, but you won't get the air cooler. Your choice, really. Sandy Bridge will still OC on stock volts to 4GHz on the included cooler. For Sandy Bridge, you're better off getting a Scythe Mugen 2 because it handles it better than the Hyper 212+. Get that some months down the road or get the 212+ now but drop down to the HAF 912.
