There are two methods: OC Genie, and standard do-it-yourself.

- OC Genie: With the system powered off, you push the OC Genie button located on the board. When you next power-on the system, it auto-magically overclocks the system for you. In most cases, this results in a 4.2 overclock. Some people aren't happy with OC Genie because they feel that the voltages that are applied are too high for such a modest OC. I'm personally fine with it because the voltages are still in the acceptable range and are significantly lower than your max recommended operating range.

I have done both, manual and OC Genie. My highest stable manual overclock I have attempted is 4.8, which worked fantastically. If I were more hardcore I'd go for 5Ghz but I don't have that many hours in the day, I don't have an endless supply of money, and I'm not that hardcore.

I'm going on 2 months of 24/7 power-on with OC Genie at 4.2 with no issues, great performance and good temps.
Well you do have a D14 though, so that might explain you good temps As said I'm on a low budget, so a Hyper 212 is all I can afford atm

I know, but it won't perform as good as a D14 though

D14 is overkill for a 4.2 OC that I'm running though. Assuming you get a decent chip, your cooler will support a 4.5 (your goal) OC no problem.

Yeah I know Well when I'm at 4.5GHz (See, I'm being optimistic here! ) I will try to go 5GHz, but my first task is to get rid of my old hardware... 2x P5N-E SLI, a E6600, 4gb of XMS2, two Scythe Infinity coolers (Amazing BTW) and a old VX450... hmmm
