Quick disconnect question...

post #1 of 19
Thread Starter
do they just take the place of a barb? I have a long piece of tube in my loop and I thought it would be cool/better if I could somehow put one in the the middle of that tube. I think I saw someone do something similar in a picture before, but can't find it again. Every quick disconnect I see in sidewinder and performance pc just look like they go in place of a barb. Anyone know of anything?

Btw, I have half inch inner diameter tubes if that matters.

Oops. Wrong information.

Unless the description says "threaded", they should just function as an in-line barb or compression fitting. For example, using the two QDCs at Sidewinder's (here) together should function as you desire, assuming you have 3/4" OD tube.

To clarify, if they aren't threaded, they work like this:

======<QDC><QDC >======

...and the threaded ones are like:

[block/rad/etc.]<QDC (threaded)><QDC (regular)>======

they do come handy if you swapping your GPU/CPU a lot without draining your entire loop

Are all three of those pretty much the same thing? I don't need the five way splitter, but the other two would be awesome assuming they would work.

Some are as a barb (screw to the block/rad/pump), some are in-line. In-line will be easier to get to, but not as neat looking.
