[Steam]DiRT3 System Requirements(an i7!?) - Page 5

Yay for panicking for no reason!

Guys, it's just marketing. Isn't it obvious that they're recommending the latest and greatest from each company?

Phenom II for AMD, i7 for Intel. And this is where it gets obvious: an i7 could be any LGA 1156, LGA 1366 or LGA 1155 i7 CPU (i7 8xx, 9xx or 2600). A Phenom II could be anything from a dual core to a 6-core. Sound fishy? That's because it is. Games don't run great just because the game "reads" what kind of CPU you have.

Guys, seriously relax.

So, if you can't play it, don't pay for it. Simples.

The game should run like Dirt 2, so if you can run dirt2 nicely, you should be fine with this one. If you have an i3 with HT on, or a quad core and a 460/6850 you should be able to run dx11, 2/4xAA at 60+ fps.

They must still have a deal with AMD since they only list the 6xxx, as Fermi runs this game better. Not to mention there are now lower end 6000 series cards. They are just numbers.

Read the specs? It's not like you can't play on DX9.

This particular developer has always been good to the PC community, so I want to know what your reasons are for stating what you did.

And if you haven't already, please read the TOS in regards to proper punctuation and professionalism.
I put forth a motion that anyone using the term "console port" without proper justification for the context they are presenting it in be instantly perma-banned.

5.6% steam users are running DX 11.
Yes because steam is an accurate measure of how many dx11 cards are in use? There's people like me who just don't do the survey, also due note he have had what 5-7 years of dx9, compared the 2 years of dx11. That's kinda like me going oh look XP has more of a user base, 2 months after windows 7 came out.

That's not in denial, but it's the fact that they are adding in dx11.

Dirt 2 wasn't a console port - the interface designs and stuff reeked of stupid console design, but they held the game back for 3 or 4 months in order to beef up the graphics for the PC version. It's the best looking racing game ever made by a decent bit. Dirt 3 should be at least as good.

Codemasters is generally treating the PC right, or at least better than average, so don't knock them by saying console port. If it uses the same dx11 code as dirt 2, or better, it's going to be amazing.
