Need a Gaming/school laptop

Hey OC,

I'm going to ICT college for 3 years and I need a good laptop which is fast enough for school and several games when I don't have anything to do.

The ICT site of the school has laptops for sale but the one I need for my ICT class is a HP 1500 euro laptop with ridiculous specs for its price (i5 520M processor with nVidia NVS 5100 Graphics Card 1GB, 4GB ram, 320GB HDD and 15.6 screen)

I'm pretty sure the 1500 euro HP laptop is a BIG ripoff and even Alienware gaming laptops are cheaper (with better specs..)

Budget is 1500 euro (doesn't have to be that much though. The lower the better)

I had to sell my desktop a couple weeks ago (can't bring much into the Navy), so I bought a Sony Vaio (F1 Series). It cost $1,250 for an i7 Q 940 (1.73GHz/2.93GHz), GeForce 425M (1GB), 6GB DDR3, Blue-Ray drive, 16.4" Widescreen, and every game i've played on it runs at max settings just fine. (Fallout 3, Bulletstorm, Bioshock 2 & TF2)

As long as size/battery life aren't a concern I think it's a great laptop.

And I'm pretty sure the euro is worth more than usd, so it would be ~$900 Euros?
