Need urgent help with i7 2600k and asus p8p67 pro

Thread Starter
Hi guys, just recently started to notice my cpu temps going into 80+ region @ 3.8GHz, I have just stressed it with prime 95 for 5 mins and the temps shot right up.

Is there anything within the bios thats causing this to happen? just started happening this week and its even since my bro was playing around with the bios

CPU cooling
stock

that right there is your problem, you probably started to use something that actually needed the hyperthreading. I'd suggest get a better heatsink. pull $30 and go get a Hyper 212+.

If the only thing that has changed is BIOS settings, then there are two possibilities. First, the voltage was raised. More voltage = more heat. Second, you could have some airflow issues. Clean out your case with compressed air, paying special attention to the CPU heatsink.
