OC Tuner? I have no idea!

Thread Starter
Hello,

I have a phenom II 6x 1090T cpu

I am using an ASRrock OC Tuner program.

I would like to over clock my cpu, however I have no idea what to do. Does anyone have any experience with this program?

Uner the over clocking tab I see CPU frequency and I see CPU multiplier.
What do these things mean?

The standard setting is 200 on frequency and 16.5 multiplier.

The tuner sates that my cpu is 3293.19 mhz now.

I also know that the voltage control has something to do with the OC as well just dont knwo what exactly.

thanks guys

Jason

Always OC through the BIOS as a first choice. The BIOS can usually be accessed by pressing a certain key such as DEL during booting before the motherboard posts.

The frequency and multiplier both control clock speed. This is the speed that the processor performs calculations.

Watch temperatures very closely and stress using Prime 95.

Monitor temps with HWMonitor.

If you haven't seen/read this start here http://www.overclock.net/amd-general...ing-guide.html
It has tons of info, plus gives you a very good path to follow.

Never use a utility to OC results are rarely stable or optimized.

Before going to far with OCing on your mobo you should be aware it's recommended not to exceed 125w and to use caution with voltage. You can it this here http://www.overclock.net/amd-motherb...hase-list.html
The 1090T is 125w stock and quickly reaches 140w when OC'd. I mention this only as a warning if your not aware.
