Project God Box

I'm putting together a new build and I would like some suggestions or comments on the components I picked. The goal is to have a fast system that's quiet. BTW I'm a casual gamer, thanks.

Go with F3 Spinpoints instead
Two of them

Do you really need the bluray player?
just wondering

For gaming you don't need an i7-2600K. Get an i5-2500K and save some bucks.

What about getting 2 x Samsung Spinpoints F3 1 TB and raid them? That Seagate drive is kinda overpriced and the Sata 6 Gbs is just a gimmick.

As for memory I suggest those or if you order before the 24th: here.

Lastly, what monitor do you have and what resolution do you play at?

I would go for a Samsung HDD but I prefer using a 7200 RPM HDD that's larger than 1TB. I don't need Blu-ray but for $80 I thought what the hell.

Samsung looks to be popular. I have a Dell 24" 2408WFP and it's been so long since I've gamed on a PC I don't have a preferred res for playing games.

I would look at Gskill for the memory have a promo on the egg 8gb 1866 for 124 with 20% discount for 100 or you can get 1600 at about $75 with promo. You could get 16gb of the 1600 versus your 2000 corsair...I like Gskill better and you would get more gains out of 16gb of slower than 8gb of a faster.

2 F3 1TB as already stated
I would upgrade that psu to at least 650 but would personally pick 750 to future proof if you ever want to run crossfire and for future builds. XFX 750 is nice http://www.newegg.com/Product/Produc...82E16817207003
**review http://www.jonnyguru.com/modules.php...tory5&reid=184

Blueray burner not necessary, can just get a 17.99 player...unless you really want it.

2500k is better for gaming and cheaper...so depends on your use.

I would also go with the Asrock mobo the extreme 4 at 159.99 very good board

This should even save you some money and you could beef up something else...new monitor, better gpu..

final note OCZ vertex 3...don't like OCZ but it is the fastest, reliable? C300 if your more conservative again saves you money could prob save close to enough with mem, board, blueray, and SSD to grab another vcard and go crossfire...thats what I would do. Either way its a good system

I'll take a look at a Samsung HDD, I know they are very quiet. Thanks for the Gskill recommendations.

The reason you would go with two of them is to raid them....it will equal 2Tb and is cheaper then a seagate......
they are quiet drives fast and they work..

Go with an M4 (c400) drive

Looks like the Crucial drives are in high demand.

2x 1 TB Samsung Spinpoint F3's in raid 0. Same storage as your 2 TB Seagate and much, much faster. OCZ Vertex 3 looks good, or Crucial C300 SSD. 4GB or 8GB G.Skill Ripjaw X RAM. i5 2500k, the i7 is $100 for HT which doesn't help at all in games.
