Need Help With PC Build

Thread Starter
Hello all,

This is my first post, not sure if it is in the right section - didn't see any general build section...

I basically just need some experienced builders to look at this and give me some suggestions. This will be my first time putting together a PC. I am not sure of the case or cooling system. I'm trying to stay around $3500.

This is my prospective build:

Monitor:
Dell UltraSharp U2410 (464-7346) Black 24" 6ms HDMI Widescreen LCD Monitor 400 cd/m2 1000:1

Tower:
???

PSU:
Antec High Current Pro HCP-1200 1200W ATX12V / EPS12V SLI Ready 80 PLUS GOLD Certified Modular Active PFC Power Suppl

cooling:
???

CPU:
Intel Core i7-2600K Sandy Bridge 3.4GHz (3.8GHz Turbo Boost) 4 x 256KB L2 Cache 8MB L3 Cache LGA 1155 95W Quad-Core Desktop Processor BX80623I72600K

GPU:
EVGA GTX 590 CLASSIFIED Limited Edition 3GB 768-bit GDDR5 PCI express 2.0 x16, 3xDual-Link DVI, DisplayPort, HDCP Ready, QUAD SLI Ready, PhysX, 3D Vision Surround Support Video Card

Motherboard:
GIGABYTE GA-P67A-UD7-B3 LGA 1155 Intel P67 SATA 6Gb/s USB 3.0 ATX Intel Motherboard

RAM:
8gb Corsair Domanitor OC 2000

Microsoft Windows 7 Home Premium 64-bit 1-Pack for System Builders - OEM

SSD:
OCZ Vertex 3 VTX3-25SAT3-240G 2.5" 240GB SATA III MLC Internal Solid State Drive (SSD)

Like I said earlier, I'm not sure of the case or cooling system, and I'm still deciding on dvd drive.

Thank you,

ecnesba

looks pretty good, no need for a 1200watt psu tho.
Also I'd switch over to G Skill, nice lifetime warranty also and will fit under a D14.
Cooling for air go D14 or go full water either are fine with SB
Case also depends on what you do for cooling, best air cooling case is Silverstone Raven, Fortress or RJ11.
If you're going water you have some other options avail, I won't say Silverstone is the best.

The 590's VRMs aren't very good, so I can't really recommend it lol. Go for two 580s or a 6990?

I thought about the 580SLI but it would be $300 more. Maybe it's worth it? I just looked up some stuff on the VRM issue - how do you know the users aren't just over-clocking them too much?

the 590 has the same number of VRM's as the 570 reference models do, which have blown also. Either get the 580's or wait for a non-reference 590.
