Fussy barsteward seeks long term relationship with the case of his dreams - Page 2

Dammit, just couldn't forget the Phantom. I'm going for the Phantom - the overall build quality, the extra room for cable management - grommeted no less, quiet design and convenient fan controllers, plus, just something about it seems *right* - I had the same feeling on seeing the Corsair 600T - but with so many people complaining about poor airflow, and not being able to use 3rd party fans in the front...Well I'm going for the Phantom.

I hear all the voices voting for the CM690II, but really, for my needs, just one fan for the HDs and even that not covering them all is simply a no-go, but I do acknowledge that apart from that one issue [a big one for me] it is, in all its incarnations a bloody good case,so please don't feel that I have ignored it at all.

I want to say thanks to Hapa for that link, very useful, and yes, Bitfenix do some nice cases, but with the issues surrounding the HD caddies, I would cry if those caused a HD to fall and fail...

Shredicus, you and the other guys n gals @ the Phantom owners club have convinced me, along with a hundred other reviewers and youtubers...I'm going to email Yoyotech now - they don't actually stock it, but they have ordered stuff in for me in the past, and they are one retailer I have always supported and will always support.

Thank you to everyone who has posted here, its sunny outside, and the miniskirts are out, cheers for taking the time away from both to help out!

Haha, cheers. You made a great choice and I'm sure you'll love the case. Once it arrives, feel free to pop into the phantom owner's thread with any questions you may have about orientation or possible mods to your rig, creativity abound with that bunch. I know this was posted a day ago, but hopefully the miniskirts are still flitting about

Heh, thanks mate! My cousin is also buying a case, he's gone for the Dark Fleet 85, shame he wouldn't listen to my advice about the Phantom, but at least he ordered the same Corsair HX850 as me...Thanks again for your patience and guidance ; ) Shorts seem to be in vogue down here in South London for some reason this year ; ( Oh well, there's always next summer!

EDIT: Also, I was severely tempted by the 690IIA as its incredibly cheap now http://www.ebuyer.com/product/240617 but to fully fan it up would involve spending more than the cost of the case itself, and I just cannot imagine the pain behind having to remove the psu to get to its dust filter to clean it - sheer idiocy and its unbelievable CM didn't upgrade this by now, what an eyesore to an otherwise amazing case ; (
