Are all phase changers Extremely noisy?

All of the phase change cooling i have seen personally were really loud... too loud for me to have them on 24/7.

Do people even use phase change as a 24/7 cooling solution?
If they do were might one get a decent one in terms of noise level and performance?

Phase change is a viable 24/7 cooling solution. However, many people prefer to turn their systems off at night to extend the life of their compressor.

Just like air/water cooling, not all phase change units are the same. Some are louder than others. With a lot of careful research and parts hunting, a phase change unit can be built that isn't much louder than the humm of a refridgerator.

Edit: I forgot to mention that I do use phase change 24/7. My phase change unit has a 10ft suction line and a weatherproof enclosure that allows me to run the phase change unit on the other side of an exterior wall. It has a 1HP compressor, 2000 CFM blower, and an oversized condenser-- it's hardcore loud.

Really? hmmm my fridge is pretty quite... i'd love to build one if i can find a way to get it within reasonable noise levels.... Is there a build guide floating around anywhere?

Thanks

edit: found one... i'll try getting all the materials together and hopefully be building it soon
