Actually I have a PS3, Wii, Xbox 360 (RRODing currently :/), etc. and my gaming PC.

Unlike some people on here I enjoy all the platforms for what games they have, and what each platform can bring to my gaming enjoyment. It saddens me that there is so much friction between the users of each platform.

Variety is a great thing.

I tell a console port by the GUI...it is always so painfully obvious when a games menus and in game actions are designed with a gamepad in mind. For those who don't know you should dig up an old game and just look at how the UI works and then load up nearly any modern game. Even the few PC exclusives will often have ring menues and such...probably because the designers have designed so many UIs for consoles that it is just habit.

no those are multiplatform games. multiplatform =/= console port. console port has become synonymous with some sort of lower standard in the pc gaming community but that isn't what it means.

No, they can't be considered a port, because they weren't ported. And what does "Meet the PC standards they could have met" mean? Who is setting these standards? You? PC Elitists? Or the other 1% of the customer base the developer doesn't really care about because that 1% isn't happy with anything not pushing three GTX 580's to the max?

Development was crippled? What are you talking about? Crysis 2 was explicitly designed to run well on all three platforms, and it did exactly that. I'd say everything went according to plan, and left a smaller percentage of gamers QQ'ing because they expect perfection.

Personally, I go by what games are available. They made Halo and Gears of War for PC so I got a taste of both, neither are worth buying an Xbox for. I've played Uncharted 2, Metal Gear Solid 4 and Killzone 2 on a friends' system, the former two seem fun but Killzone 2 was meh. All the best games aren't console exclusives, so I don't see the point in owning consoles at all.
