Sound card smashed between 5870s

Thread Starter
I just got my first real sound card and the only PCIe slot that is open is between my two 5870s and I was just wondering if someone could tell me if this is okay or not:

Note: If for some reason you can't tell, the cards are not touching. It is really close though.

What soundcard is it and what connection do you use to connect it up to?
Of course its OK.
Nothing to worry about.
Its great that you even have a pcie slot to put it in, and have some space for the top card to breath. Its placed perfectly.

it looks likes there enough clearance between the two 5870's for the sound card so you should be ok.

Yea it's close but like I said, it isn't touching either card and the fans aren't even closed to being blocked but I actually just got my second 5870 all set up yesterday. Needless to say, I'm not used to having so much hardware packed into my rig. Thanks a lot for the replies and thanks for easing my paranoia!

I won't be worried about the card being squash in the middle I would think about the electrical noise that card is going to get pounded with
post #8 of 12
It looks fine. Both video-cards are shrouded and so is the sound card itself, worrying about electrical interference sounds a little silly.

It's fine, not ideal due to heat reasons, but OK.

Its much shorter than the video-cards, so its not obstructing their intake (provided the second card's fan is in roughly the same area as the top's. As long as the case is decently cooled I don't see the card getting too much heat
