Problem with display on boot - Sandy Bridge

Last night I ran prime 95 for about 9 hours on my sig rig at 4.5ghz and 1.25v without any problems, I turned it off for a few hours afterwards. Nothing unusual.

This morning after turning on my computer it attempted and failed post a few times, reset itself, and posted normally into windows. I was not too concerned because the same thing happened the morning before without any complications.

However, since then there has been no display until windows desktop.

Normally on startup, after posting I would see: ASUS motherboard splash > Windows 7 splash > Windows 7 loading (only sometimes because of SSD) > Desktop

At the moment I hear a single beep and afterwards my display remains inactive until about 20 seconds later when the desktop pops up. The desktop isnt showing up any slower than before either. Though I haven't actually timed how fast my computer boots to desktop, there isn't any significant difference before and after this problem
If I need to go into bios I basically press the del button after powering on without any idea of what's going on until eventually the BIOS pops up.

EDIT: another problem I just realized was not there before this issue started. When the screen goes blank after exiting bios or switching between screens (when entering bios ezflash for example) For a second or two I get a black screen with a very thin horizontal line (or 2-3 sometimes) that's multicolor. Hard to describe but it's just one pixel tall and it goes across maybe 30percent of the screen. It's usually in different spots, and formations

I have tried:

1. Restarting the computer many times, each time undoing a change in the BIOS that I had made, also tried giving the cpu slightly more voltage thinking that it was a problem with my overclock.

2.Unplugging everything except mobo, gpu, and ram to rule out some hardware and the OS. This results in the same blank screen for about 20 seconds until a message pops up saying I have no boot device with a button to go into BIOS. (No mobo splash, or anything else)

3. Reseting BIOS (version 1505) settings to default and clearing CMOS to make sure it isn't because I messed up something in the BIOS. Same no display issue.

4. Reseating the GPU and Memory.

Now I'm out of ideas. It doesn't seem to be a problem with the OS settings or BIOS. It doesn't seem to be a hardware error either since everything still works fine, there's just no display for the first however many seconds before desktop.
I'm thinking that the gpu just isn't processing anything or getting signals until desktop... but I dunno what kind of problem that is or how to fix it

Disable PLL overvoltage. It is a bug that intel is working on on their end apparently.

I changed PPL overvoltage on stock bios settings from auto to disabled and restarted computer. I'm still getting no display until desktop

Then I am at a loss. I was having all sorts of problems starting/restart/sleeping/hibernating and that fixed it all.

I know it's a long shot and you likely have tried this already.

On my sig rig, what I don't show is the extra 20" old Viewsonic monitor I have plugged into my video card.

for some reason I cannot explain, my Boot "Dos" functions show up over there. then Windows show's up on my 30" Apple display.

Do you have another monitor plugged in, or have one to test with?

Well I did not plug another monitor into my computer, but I have tested my monitor on my laptop and it seems to be working fine. I also tried plugging the DVIcord into the second slot on my GPU instead of the first.

Also it seems like when booting the screens I cannot see are the ones that I wouldn't be able to interact with anyways. For example the "do you want to start windows normally" dos screen still shows up if I don't power down properly. But, after I push enter, it goes back to a black screen until desktop shows up.

another problem I just realized was not there before this issue started.
