Run a low fan speed you'll get colder air out of it. I used a/c air too.

One of these days I'll get around to building a SS. When I update my rig I'll be more inclined to build it.

Remove Maxxmem from your screenshot and you'll have plenty of room.

Hmm, I guess it was just STT's binning process? Maybe that is why they were able to sell them cheap?

The kit sucks, I've already had my 2000 C7's up over 2000 6-6-6...other set wont do 1900 I'm afraid.

For some reason most of the STT 2000 C8 kits were better than the 2133/2200 kits
That's what I heard too, but I think that's because I asked for advice a while ago when I was about to get the 2133 kit...

Speed series or Project X? I'm surprised by all these stories of STT sucking

Ive got that set in the 790fx now doing around 1800Mhz 8-8-8 but they arent happy with it at the moment in win7 64bit.
The thing is though, even though they look good on paper with these main timings, the results Im pulling with em, especially the latency and PI times are pretty bad! Im not sure if its down to sub timings been slack or what !? Maybe its just me or my os setups..?? I dont know!

I dont know how the STT's died, last time I ran them was months ago on my 790fx and they were fine. Since then they have been packaged and sat in a draw untouched until a few weeks ago when I tried them in a Sandy Bridge setup. They didnt post then either but I just thought it was cos theyre an older 1.8v kit needing more voltage than the board would of been giving, so I swapped em out and put em back in the draw until now. There is no reason for them to have died!!

Im not sure what ics they are but I think possibly they are the D9's from the little bit of research I did when I got em, which was over a year ago. Plus they were 2nd hand then but the person I bought from had only owned em a few weeks from new!

They are rated 1600Mhz at 7-6-6 with 1.8v and are single sided sticks aswell!!
You said you stuck the sticks back in AM3 and they still didn't work? Because I know a lot of sticks don't like p67...
I agree with BeepBeep though, I don't think they are dead. Stick them in the freezer, or try different platforms.

Don't get rid of them yet...if you dont have any use for them or a setup that will take them I might

Maybe I'm just really good at this XD
I was thinking the same thing let me have em haha

Some updates for me.

*note: I can't win prizes. I play just for the thrill.

The T2RS is finally starting to show me some thrill to. Latency isn't there yet, but bandwidth is coming along.

Don't laugh at my 32M, it's W7. Just wanted to see how high I could get cas 4 to complete @ 2.51v.

This pair of Ballistix Tracers are lil'beasts.

They're 2GB sticks. Don't think they'll OC like these are. I am curious as to what modules are on them though. Think I'm going to put them in my son's build this summer.
