2 weeks ago it was still getting down under 5° at night, but haven't seen snow for while, barely any of that this year.

Here's my intro guys! Just playing around still, subtimings on auto for now except tRFC. So no tweaking yet really, just testing out Bassplaya's XP Vs. mine.

Still not sure if I want to use hexa core CPU either like FTW mentioned, the older CPU's have much better bandwidth but it's hard to decide cause these can do so good at everything else!

Different OSes are all good. Nice uncore frequency man, raises the bar a bit...

Thanks man! I may take it higher, this is the first CPU I've had that I could bench uncore over 4.6, so get ready

Is it ok in Sandra that nothing is showing for compare and or on the right in the results section? Not sure why that is by default, maybe just XP?

That's just XP, I had the same thing & it worked fine in 7. Might be the .net or something it needs...
My scores in 7 were very similar to XP, BW was the same & latency was .1 lower.
I'm really not sure about the empty field, I was wondering that myself but went with 7 before i froze since the scores were as good or better testing on water.

I think it just means that they didn't test that specific memory kit with the mobo. Chances are really good that it will be fine though, memory is memory as long as it's the right module for the slot & the rated voltage is OK for the board.

Ahh ok, thought maybe it was just the OS. I even see the same in a unmodified XP, and I did install .Net 3.5 SP1 and it didn't help, so not sure what it needs but I don't plan to install anything else unless we have to. I was thinking maybe Java or Flash possibly?

Cool, thanks for the heads up, I'd thought about using win7 x64 for Sandra anyway, plus I need to verify that Xp is giving me best scores for Pi at those clocks anyway.

there a trick to getting good latency on clarkdale chips. Running 1900mhz 6-6-618-1 and getting latency score of 74ns or so, cpu was at 5.2 and uncore at 4.3 never benched 1156 before but this seems off. Tried xp, 7x32 and 7x64 all same thing same with bandwidth around 16gbs what gives

Got my base done. Weighs something over 2lbs, anywhere from 2.2-2.8 says my scale lol.

First time soldering like this, so it's kinda ugly and took a few tries.

Also, since it was so damn hard to solder that gap, and it will be even harder to put the other extension on...think I can just silicone/tape that PVC pipe on as my top extension? PVC won't crack or explode at those temps will it? I don't think it will be directly holding anything really, just more for pouring and accidental bubble up.

Yea, I wouldn't worry about the top to much. I strapped the funnel end off a 20oz coke bottle on my GPU pot.
