[Build Log] Fshizl's Operation Polemos - Page 16

2nd bios unlocks the 450 watt power profile. Which is over the standard 350 watt usage. Right now it's using the 350 watt profile.

I saw here that the voltage regulators that were used on the 590 were similar to the ones dying in the 570s

Hey also what does the 2nd bios do? Is it like a dual boot sequence you get on some mobo's?
From your understanding or from personal experience. Two completely but very IMPORTANT aspects of your conclusion.

2nd bios would be the OC'd one iirc. i think some companies void warranty once you use it too

I was hoping for an educated answer.

From my experience of owning laptops with nVidia GPUs their drivers are crap and so is their hardware, but that is just speaking in terms of laptops. Heck one of my 7950 GTX in sli simply burned out, another had OEM drivers NOT LISTED on the spec sheet. So no i don't like nVidia one bit from my experience, but i've herd their desktop GPUs are for the most part very solid.

Would this be true for the 590? Good driver support? As mentioned above the voltage regulators may not be up to par with the performance it is intended for...

Wait for the revised 590 coming next month.

Perhaps even the ASUS Mars Ares Jupiter Saturn 595.

This is why i went with my 6990, if the card is made to handle 450 watts of power, by flipping a switch, then im pretty sure the parts used are top quality parts lol.

if you keep waiting youll never own anything lol, youll just keep waiting for the next one, then for the next one because the one that came out wasnt as good as expected...

UPDATE: Sorry guys for taking so long on this build, ive been extremely busy with school and work that I just havent had time for any of it yet. I will be rolling out little updates here and there, but my updates include pictures, so for me to set up the pictures and what not take me time lol.

I know you guys want to see what i plan on doing with the case but I currently dont have much written down for the case. Just currently waiting on finishing the power supply and getting the case painted.

The current plans for paint on the case is, the drive bay pieces will be anodized black, the center plate will be anodized black and the back plate for the motherboard will be anodized black. The motherboard tray which is made out of stainless steel, will be painted dark british racing green. I mean dark dark dark green. That is the only thing that will be painted green. All the other stuff will either be dark gray or black.

As far as current plans for the water cooling loop, the parts will be a 480 rad plus a 120. Yes I know I can fit a 240 on the bottom (or top) but I will not be doing so, for two reasons. I am not putting any radiators on the inside of the computer were the components will be, and I am not going to sacrifice space on the bottom of the case for 120mm more of radiator space.

Fan controller will probably be my old lamptron fc5, but I might find something new that seems interesting, maybe an aquero .

So i leave you guys with this information.

All the waterblocks will be nickel acetal, I wanted copper blocks to match the copper brown sleeve, but I dont want to buy a completely new waterblock for my computer just for this build, or maybe i do... who knows, but then I have to find a copper block for the 6990, but i want it to be ek... lol such a loop that will never happen.

I hope I have provided you guys with enough info on the upcoming ideas on this build.
