Was a pretty decent gamble either way..if VisionTek takes your RMA you are going to be up a lot of $$..whatever they send you is definitely going to be worth more than the $120 or whatever it was you guys paid for these 4870x2's.

Ok, I have my 2nd card unboxed, but they're in bad shape

Uploaded with ImageShack.us

By krazyatom at 2011-04-22

Edge is severely damaged/bent. Not sure if I can even rma is this of stuff.
Good news is that this card doesn't give me arifacts like my 1st card, so my 1st card is definitely bad.

My 2nd card way work ok, but I am not comfortable looking at those damages. Do you guys think visiontek will accept this kind of rma?

Holy crap I thought mine were bad. I just had scratches and scuffs. My 2nd one however had the metal part a little bent. Easy fix by bending it back... but wow yeah these "refrub" are really unacceptable...

I don't see why not..I assume they are factory refurbed..just tell them the cards have physical damage from a factory done refurb that is causing artifacting and see if they will RMA it..

2 of these would make your case sweating or even melting (jk ) honestly . Why don't you just buy a single 6970 or something and be done? If you crank their fan up, they will be quite noisy from what i heard.

I already have 6990, so these were bought for my 2nd rig lol.
I might returned these to tigerdirect or rma to visiontek.
