Mafia 2 fps drops

Ok well most of the time running around it stays at 60fps without any movement(all settings maxed, physx off) but when driving around I'm suffering from constant fps variations, sometimes it drops to like 55 or 50, not a big deal but i do feel it, but times when i turn corners or just random times it drops to like 29 fps...i monitor the ram usage with msi ab and it never goes above 600mb...so what else could be the problem?

Hmm, strange behavior especially since you have PhysX off.

Are you using the latest drivers ?

Man, I always see post by you about performance issues. You think there's something wrong with your card? Also, the res in Mafia 2 effects the fps the most when you have a mid-highend card. Try it at stock settings unless it's a driver issue. What drivers are you using?

It's just the game loading things (scenery, map, textures, objects, etc) in the memory. And if it happens when turning corners, there you have it. Just the game loading things.

That's why it drops to 29 (in your case) frames per second.

Nothing wrong with your computer.

Considering i've gone thru 3 of these, i'm not so sure if it's the card anymore..latest drivers.

Your overclock is probably unstable, since you're doing 3.8 with stock volts.

Passed 12hrs of prime, never bsod'd ever or froze and this is the only game to do this. I tried every configuration to get the highest OC i could with stock V. Now i'm going thruout the city(turned vsync off) and stays between 60-80, but it still dropped one time when i was drivin straight, down to 30 fps for a second than spit back up.

newest gefoce drivers suck. anyways. try getting a faster hard drive. cant get data off it as fast as the card needs it.

edit: well restarted the game, and all was running fine like it used to, no big drops..so no clue what the problem was. Also ran the benchmark with vsync on and avg was 56fps, look normal?
