[Fixed] Wireless Network Device not detected HELP ME!

My friend just bought an HP Pavilion DV7 - 4264CA laptop and so I reinstalled a copy of Windows 7 on it to get rid of the extra software that HP puts into their notebooks. I installed all the drivers, but everytime I try to install the Atheros Wireless Network driver but it says that the device was either unplugged or not connected. Not only that, but I didn't make a recovery disc (stupid idea)

I've tried:
Updating BIOS
Reinstalling drivers (50 times)
Turning on Network Adapter on boot (in BIOS)

Any solution other than paying a load of money to Futureshop and HP? D;<

Edit: - Figured out that HP didn't have the drivers for the WLAN adapter and downloaded a driver for an Acer laptop with the same adapter.

Did you check if everything was working before you restored it? It is possible that it wasn't working before.

Yea, I checked if it was working before and it worked. I figured out that the wireless adapter was actually from Broadcom and HP didn't have the driver on their website so I found it on an Acer laptop.
