need to upgrade from stock i7 cooler. options?

Thread Starter
So i have been running on my stock i7 cooler for a while and decided that it's time to upgrade (dont know why i didnt do it sooner) Anyway, i was considering the H50, but i have heard mixed reviews. I dont want to spend a ton on a cooler, but anything around $60 would be alright. Any recommendations/links would be awesome, Thanks

i highly recommend the Coolermaster hyper 212+, its only 30 bucks and performs wonderfully, i used it use it on my other PC (i7 920 @ 4ghz)
and it cooled it very well. Highest i saw was 69C (prime95). Also your CPU is 95 watts right? so it should be even coolers.

But yeah, overall 212+ is great for 30 bucks. From what i've seen from reviews,212+ should perform around the H50.

I have the H50 and my 860 is o/c'ed to 3.5. I just gamed Bad co 2 and my cpu didn't get above 53c. I idle at 34. stock setting cpu Im ad 24c. Lotsa people will offer different opinions but for clean install, nice looks, you can't go wrong. I personaly am not a fan of huge coolers and my case didn't allow for that. This was the perfect alternative.

Thanks for the input everyone! I think ill be heading over to Fry's to pick up a hyper212+ tomorrow. Definitely going to be enough for me and a great price. I might upgrade in the future, but this will definitely be an upgrade for now
