The main reason why I started considering the 580's were because of the disappointing performance I've seen of the 590's in terms of benchmarks, Quad-SLI don't scale all too well it seems? which is why I thought an OC'd 580 Lightning might be very close in terms of performance?

As far as heat & noise go, I still have no idea, but I'm really interested in how they compare noise-wise.

This is an interesting point, is micro stutter an issue with the 590? is it noticeable?

You need a 3d monitor setup to see 120hz. that said go w the quad sli since its faster than 3x gtx580 at the same price.

Why do users insist that I don't know a 590 has 2 GPU's, or that I'd need a 120Hz Monitor to see 120fps... I know these things, at this rate someone is gonna chime in and say that I'd need a hefty power supply to run 2 590's.

I'm only interested in a comparison of the mentioned cards in terms of noise, heat, and performance (scaling & micro-stutter included)..which has not yet happened x]

Out of your choices, I'd go for Tri-Sli 580's and water cool them. I'm like you, want to have overkill in GPU power to handle anything I throw at it. People that cant see the difference in 120hz and 60hz must be blind or don't care about the fluidity of enjoying a game.
