Corsair 1.6V ram...

Thread Starter
I posted this over it the main Intel forum but this area seems more appropriate.
I just built this system tonight. I installed this ram out of my old rig.

http://www.newegg.com/Product/Produc...-284-_-Product

The system would just hang randomly after being on for about 7-10mins. I pulled 2 sticks of ram out of the black slots and it has been running fine all night no hiccups.

I happened to notice that the MB was only running the ram at 1.5V.

It says the low end is 1.5 but the tested is 1.65 and the sticker on the Dimm says 1.6V. I bumped the Dram on this board to 1.6 accordingly (even though CPUID is saying its still at 1.5).

These are the timings? The sticks say 7-7-7-20 Should I go into bios and force these settings? Or just leave it like it is?

I also am still just running on 2 sticks. Should I put the other 2 back in? Also another guy mention bumping the Viccor?

loose your CL timing, by now almost every P67 user has this 4 slot memory "mismatch" issue.

Sorry landy I am really a noob here. I am clueless on ram! What exactly do I need to do?

This page is different...

Am I better off getting the right 1.5V ram that is for the board that is lower V?

Not a noob you just started learning. The picture you posted are the JEDEC-standards for your RAM (what they can do/run). The first picture is showing what your RAM is actually running at.
I just finished a SB build for a friend and we put RAM with 7-7-7-20 in it.
BIOS @auto ran it @9-9-9-? (forgot the last). I changed it to 7-7-7-20 and tested satability. Everything was fine. (The volts where @auto)
In your case i would run them with 1,6v and 7-7-7-20. That is what you have paid for.´
Good luck with it and remember RAM tweaking can be fun too
Edit: Oh just looked at newegg. Your RAM should be 7-7-7-20 but the SDP CPU-Z tab doesn`t show that. The 4# Should look something like 666MHz, 7, 7, 7, 20, 3x, 1,6v (from top to bottom) even if the CL7 is a XMP.
What this picture shows is that you have RAM rated for 9-9-9-24@1,5v.

Go to bios
Dram timings
Then change it to 7-7-7-20

then press back
Then go look for dram speed and select 1333mhz since that's what theyre rated for
and go down to the dram voltages. u can go o 1.65 if u want. i would try 1.6

plus, the cpuz shot doesnt show voltages. it shows the ratio.
