Strange lockup only when connecting to different head setup???

So I'll run a mild overclock, like 3.5 on a 955 with stock volts (1.375), multiplier only, and set memory timing to recommended by crucial, and all is well. I'll game all day. Run Prime95 in both FFT and blend mode for hours. Restart several times. All is well. Stable stable stable for 3 days or more.

This computer gets moved every 3 days to work-a different monitor, keyboard, mouse, and LAN setup for 24 hours, and then comes back again. The only thing I can think here is it's gotta be the monitor....

1rst Setup(work)
PS/2 Dell keyboard
Razer Imperator mouse
I forget what kind computer monitor flat screen using DVI (I kind find out if this is important)
PX21 headphones for sound

2nd setup(home)
SyncMaster Monitor listed in Sig Using HDMI
KB/Mouse in Sig (Razer Taurantula and Diamondback)
PS/2 Dell Keyboard
Printer
Ethernet

Okay so what happens is, this stable machine will NOT boot once I hook everything up (but only going from setup 1 to setup 2). I thought this might have been a display issue initially, so I've tried all kinds of things.
-Instead of HDMI, I've tried a DVI cable to the Monitor. No Boot.
-VGA cable with DVI adapter to different TV. No Boot.
-Use on-board HDMI port. No Boot.
-Hook up only bare bones components. No Boot.

Like once it has decided it needs a CMOS reset, that's it, it's getting reset and that's all there is to it. My question is why? What is setting this off?

Something to note here is I kinda know that it's not just the monitor not displaying, because on boot the lights on the keyboard normally light up, turn off, light up again, and mouse light as well. When this happens there is no activity at all and all the KB/Mouse lights are off. I hear the HD seek, the case fans are on....but no bios, no display, no KB/Mouse lights.

Once I reset the CMOS with the jumper I'll get display again... set all my settings back to where they were originally, the computer will boot fine, run the HDMI to the 2nd monitor, and run stable like it did the day before for the next two days until I bring it to setup 1 again, where it never has a problem being plugged in there. Same scenario, gaming, Prime95, stable some more on setup 1. It only doesn't like being moved from setup 1 to setup 2. Then it requires the reset.

This has to be due to something to do with going from DVI to HDMI. Resolution changes, the older monitor hooked up, and then trying to boot with the newer one. I dunno, I'm at a loss, scratching my head on this. Someone please enlighten me.

I also wanted to mention that I have considered chip creep and things getting knocked loose, as the tower is moved, and moving it is def. a concern for me. I have reseated the CPU, GPU, plugged in the PSU cords all over again, reseated RAM sticks, basically I have rebuilt the thing. Behaviour is exactly the same.

One day, bring ALL your tech stuff from your work to your home. Plug in your PC like you normally do in your home. Then unplug something of your home and plug somthing for your work. If it doesnt works, plug the home thing again and try with other.

Example: In your home, with all your home's stuff plugged, unplug your home monitor, and connect your work one. If it doesnt works, plug your home monitor again, and try the same with your mouse, and go on.....

Good idea, should of thought of that as part of my process. Might take me a day or so to get this going, but I'll try this soon.

After some scientific method testing, I have determined this is NOT related to the setup, but is in fact an unstable overclock. That doesn't really surprise me, as this was too weird. I guess I never realized that the only times I'm really shutting down is to transfer the computer to different spots. However still confused as to how this ONLY shows when I do a full shut down. The question has evolved, does that mean I should start a new thread? I'm new to the forum world...

New problem- Sig Rig, overclocked, shows stability for days running, including intensive games (SC2, Metro2033, New Vegas, Crysis2, Assissins Creed Brotherhood) AND Prime95 (both FFT and Blend Testing for over 4-5 hours) and will run without a hitch. Restarts fine as many times as you want. Upon full shutdown, computer will require a CMOS reset with consistent results.

I have read about overclock stability for some time before making an account and beginning my journey. BSODs, failing stress tests, failing gaming applications, overheating. All those I can understand. But why is a full shutdown the only thing that shows instability? LOL if that's the case, then I'll never waste hours running Prime again! Especially if it can't bring out a problem...

Read further only if you want the proof that this is not my head setup as once suspected. This was the process:
Full overclock settings=CPU volt set at 1.375, multiplier 19x. CPU@3.8MHz. NB Freq x10; 2000MHz. RAM timings set at 4-4-4-12 and voltage at +230mA (2V) as recommended by crucial.
Home Setup(2)-
Shut down. No boot.
Reset CMOS and Reboot
Settings back to Full Overclock.
Restart-Fine Restart-Fine Shut Down-No Boot Wait 3 minutes (rule out lag?) No boot.
Reset CMOS and Reboot
Settings all the same except RAM timings-Left auto. Auto-set to 5-5-5-18.
Shut Down. No Boot.
Clear CMOS and Reboot.
Full overclock settings except CPU multi and volts-left on Auto.
CPU Auto-set to 1.375V x16 multi for 3.2GHz, No Overclock
Shut Down. Boots.
Enabled CPU Freq/Voltage control and set at stock speeds and Volts
Shut down. Boots.
Set bios settings back to "Full overclock settings" at top.
Shut down, Switched setup to work setup before booting.
No Boot.
Reset CMOS and Reboot.
Set all settings to "Full overclock" again.
Shut down and kept work station connected.
No Boot.
Work Stations Ruled out.

That artic 64 is so legacy, it can't perform well on a phenom II. What is your load temp?

You mean no POST, right? Anyway, did you update to the latests bios?

I agree the cooler could use an upgrade. However this is not temperature related. I can duplicate these results during cold or warm starts, I can duplicate these results regardless of temperatures or running times. Load temp is also not a factor, as this will happen upon boot and immediate shut down. Temps in this case never reach above 40C.

My bios is the latest version.
