To OC or not to OC?

Thread Starter
Hi guys

I've unlocked my card successfully, and it's kombustor and OCCT stable when i clock it at 879/1375 with 1.175V.

I've set my fan profile to 70% under load and my Kombustor temps were 69 degrees Celcius, after 10 minutes. OCCT didn't find any errors as well.

But I am facing a troubling choice. should i leave my card at stock clocks, or leave them at the current level?

Does anyone know if long term GPU Ocing kills the cards? Do you lose performance a couple of months down the line? Is there something like a Vdroop for GPUs that makes the card unstable on stock volts and stock clocks, once you've OCd it?

Hope experienced folks here can help me out

WHat is your stock voltage? Is the one stated above the stock, or you've changed it?

Anyway, heat and voltage kill the card, not frequencies. If you are running stock volts with normal temps under load, frequency won't matther, it won't shorten the lifetime of the card.

Do you really need to OC the card to play maxed out all games?

I say keep it on stock, it's not worth it to OC that GPU for now considering you're on a 23" monitor.

Keep it on stock, also 70% must be loud as hell, is it the reference stock cooler or the 3 fan cooler?

If it's the reference I'd keep it at 40% while gaming it won't reach high temps and you'll have a way quieter PC
