PSN has been down a lot more than once, and there are the disconnects I used to get as well (sold PS3 awhile ago). PSN always had slow download speeds as well, from both firmware upgrades to actual content. There definitely was a huge difference between max speed downloads on XBL all the time, and snail pace speeds on PSN. But you get what you pay for, PSN was free so I didn't expect fast quality service. For being free, PSN was good, it got the job done. But it does not compare to XBL, it doesn't hold a candle to it. The mutliplayer/server hosting/matchmaking that XBL has and PSN doesn't is reason enough for $3 a month. I owned both consoles at once, and every multiplatform game that has multiplayer myself and my friends bought for 360 just because of XBL. XBL was literally the deciding choice.

My guess: Sony discovered that someone was in their kitchen stealing their foods. Now Sony just hopes that they ate the tofu in the fridge,(No personal information) and didn't drink up their beer (User's email addresses), milkshake (Users, username / passwords), or their premium steak filet (CC numbers / users addresses).

Let's just hope the hackers didn't get anything . . . . . I highly doubt that due to the scorch the earth tactic Sony has taken.

It also must be an easy to exploit flaw in their PSN server software. I have a feeling that Sony has lit a fire under their developers but's to fix this exploit.

It looks like I may have called it . . . Unfortunately.

It is very foolish for Sony to keep CC numbers on the same server they run PSN off of.

I think the main reason anon launched an attack at sony is because of the geohot lawsuit and SCEA is forcing youtube to hand over all Hotz's and Fail0verflow's personal info. Including the info and IP addresses of all users who visited or posted in his youtube channel and in bluehost.

Isn't that infringement? How does Sony get away with this anyway?

Really Sony 6 days and counting. And you can't even give us a time frame. This is getting a bit out of hand. I understand that you are under hauling you network which is no easy task but come on now. If you guys were really working around the clock it should be online. I think what pisses us off the most is the lack of info that you guys are passing along to us the consumers. I work about 13hours a day and the weekends are the only time I get to play now so thanks Sony./End Rant

Sorry guys I had to vent. Yes I have Steam but Im to broke to buy any new games.

I like this!
what we need is a real revolution riot on big companies "Games Phones ISP ...
there is no competition and they have monopole of all industries in this world
i mean not just for video games but if all big owner could fail cuz hackers attack them and paralize their activities. it could result in development of a new economie where "we"
customers have the choice of what we want cuz it would make place for other idea to take form and develope. SO peaple will be divise in alot of partitions. Not only between XBOX or PS yo know what i mean?

so support hackers who do the right thing
