Solid build quality, great specs, and no hipster flashy design, if i didnt use a tablet pc for school id be all over this.
The Macbook Air's been the thinnest one so far, so it was an obvious choice to compare with.

Ive been a big fan of lenovo, got a y560 myself, and yeah its great that they kept the original Thinkpad look. But taking a closer look at the other Thinkpad model's they're build quality seems to have gone down a bit.

As for playing your role hating on Apple, l2 go big =p My friend and I once seriously considered pee'ing in front of the Apple Store in a mall xD

It's also the thinnest when it comes to things that comes with it.
Unlike the MBA the Lenovo X1 actually has more USB ports, even Memory card reader and thumblock AND best of all, the TrackPoint.

Call me an purist, but even though they kept the basic design, I wish they had just stuck with their traditional keyboard. This one looks like it's trying to be a Sony/Apple (not forgetting that Apple stole the design from Sony) keyboard with the spacing and what-have-you.

In any case, the only Thinkpads that are overpriced are the ones that fall in the MacBook Air's domain, but they aren't overpriced when compared to the MacBook especially when you factor in how much they out-perform it.

I'll still only buy the T-series as they are thin without sacrificing any performance what-so-ever and they still get amazing battery life.

Two complaints with the new Sandy Bridge Thinkpads, though, are the 16:9 aspect ratio and the fact that only the X220 gets USB 3.0 and that's only if you plop in the 2.7ghz i7.

Also, bad Lenovo, bad (for that horrid glossy screen you have potentially placed on the X1).

As a joke, whenever my girlfriend and I walk by an Apple Store I ask her if she needs to use the restroom alluding to an Apple Store being a restroom.

I have to say that Lenovo makes some of the best laptops around.

Still using my X60, such a great little laptop!

This new X1 kind of looks like a black version of the macbook, very nice indeed!

I love my current Lenovo T500 lappy.

It may not have the most up to date specs as it's now two years old but it sure does what I need it to. And believe me, this thing has been through hell and it still works like the day my University gave it to me.

Also as many have said the price you see listed there won't be the sale price.
