Did they stop making GTX 470's?

Thread Starter
Hmm.. so i been looking around online this morning and noticed that newegg, amazon, mwave and tiger direct dont carry gtx 470s (maybe 1 or 2).. i was wondering if companies are going to stop production of them anytime soon, since well... i was thinking of picking one up, so should i do it now or maybe later?

Thanks!

Don't buy it until you need it, honestly. There will always be residual 470's around, not to mention used ones here on OCN that will be well taken care of and in great shape. Price of 470's is just going to keep going down so hold out until you need your second one for best prices ^.-

I think production probably stopped since they have GTX 560 ti replacing the GTX 470 now. I've been looking for a brand new or used evga GTX 470 myself for around $150-200.

They are phasing them out and getting rid of the last of their stock since they have now gone on to the 5XX series

Production ceased on 470's quite a while ago so that Nvidia could focus on its 5xx series.

I bought my third one quite a while ago(December I think) and it was hard to just find an EVGA reference card plus a backplate and bracket.

Also good god you need to fold on that system! So much PPD could be had! 80k+ easy!

Not everyone can fold.

For example: my parents won't let me fold because they pay the electricity bill. On top of that, I wouldn't be able to afford the extra cost if they were to allow me to fold and pay them the difference.

New http://www.evga.com/products/moreInf...s%20Family&sw=
B Stock http://www.evga.com/products/prodlist.asp?switch=20

The b stock would be your best bet if your not to worried about a warranty. Or finding a used on here on OCN.
