So my dilema is between the GS and the PHANTOM atm , the price difference
is only about half a dollar

what kind of performance boost should i expect from OC'ing both the phantom
and the GS?
and which one is generally better (couldn't find ANY sort of comparison between these 2 on the internet)

thanks

The difference is 3-5fps, but the phantom is more silent and takes 2.5 slots
Phantom 750/1950/1500
GS 800/2000/1600

3-5 fps difference between what the GS and the phantom ? or the GS/phantom and the OC GS/phantom?

(by the data you wrote - 800/2000/1600 the GS seems to be better - faster - aint it?)

Yes 3-5 fps difference between GS and the phantom, and yes GS is faster, but under full load is more loud.

did I get this right? - the 3-5 fps is higher on the GS than on the phantom since it has higher core speed?

What about the GS OC (not the factory one) how much boost will it get me? 5%/10%/15%? and is it safe to OC it without any other hardware stuff (power control ETC)

GSH is binned so is better for overclocking, however i dont know how much OC you'll get.
Be aware because there are 3 version of Gtx 570
GS 750/1950/1500
GSH 800/2000/1600
Phanton 750/1950/1500
Its the same card, only GSH is factory OC.

The GS im talking about says :

GPU speed : 732 Mhz
Memory Clock Speed : 1900 Mhz
RAMDAC : 400 Mhz (whatever this is)
Bandwidth : 152 GB/s

The PHANTOM one is :

GPU clock speed : 750 Mhz
Memory Clock Speed : 1950 Mhz
RAMDAC : 400 Mhz
Bandwidth : 156 GB/s

EDIT :
I see that the GS and the phantom have the same core speed so how will the GS get higher FPS?
out of the 2 above which one do you recommend?

My bad GSH is faster, GS = Phantom, the card in the first post, 2nd link is GSH.
The down side of phantom is that it's a 2.5 slot, if you have space get the phantom.
