Looking for a certain type of game...

I'm very picky with my game choices, although I'll give almost any game a go. I'm looking for a game to suit my needs, then my life will be complete... I remember a game with a name like Worm, or something similar, and you could build structures and terraform the land... This is the type of game I need. Unfortunately I don't know the name of that game, so I can't try it (I swear it was called Worm?). Do any of you guys here at Overclock know of any good games like this?

I love Sandbox and simulation games, which is why I love Minecraft... this is the best game I've ever played but I'm looking for a game with a better multiplayer, perhaps? I'm not too bothered about multiplayer, but I'd just love a game where you can either gather materials for your houses, or terraform the land and build villages.

I know, I'm extremely fussy about my games, but I really feel like playing something like this now... if any of you guys know what the game I'm talking about is called, lemme know please! Thanks a lot, and I'm looking forward to some awesome game recommendations.

Oh, and I loved the game 'Stranded 2', that was awesome.

Thanks for your post but that's not it, I'm afraid - although that is a fantastic game! Hmm...

Ooh, thanks for the suggestion; I've played the Sims games (Love them, used to play them on the ol' PS2 and Xbox with my brothers, hehe.) but I've never played Sim City... I'll have to give them a try. Thanks!

Never played Sim City?! whoa! Well Sim City 4 was my favorite, that's for sure.

There have been many games that tried to fill in it's shoes that never came quite close.

The only one recently that had any merit during its development was Cities XL. Unfortunately that game was riddled with bugs, and a stupid trading system where you had to pay for the "mmo" portion of it in order to trade with other players. Needless to say it tanked quite fast. I did play it quite a bit in the beta and it was pretty enjoyable as a city builder. Too bad it had so many problems.

Another good type of Sim game is Tropico 3. Probably my favorite so far in the genre. Very fun, almost no bugs, easy to play for hours on end. I can't wait for Tropico 4 coming out sometime soon.

I really wish EA would stop funneling money into The Sims and make a sequel to Sim City 4. And Sim Societies doesn't count because that game was just terrible. I would pay up to and including $70 for a well designed sequel to it.

Hehe, after watching a few videos, it doesn't look like my sort of game... I mean, I've played games like this, but I get bored too easily.

Tropico 3, on the other hand, looks pretty decent! I've just watched a couple of videos and the graphics make it look pretty awesome... I'll have to give it a go.

Oh, by the way, I found the 'Worm' game I was looking for... it's called 'Wurm Online'

Surprising the graphics of Tropico 3 are excellent, I really wasn't expecting it to be, so it was an added bonus. It actually gave my GTX 570 a run for it's money when all the settings were at max and you had a full city with the view zoomed all the way out.

The gameplay is pretty in depth requiring some micromanagement. It was pretty tricky at the start to keep everybody happy and not lose elections, but you get the hang of the little nuances and the strings you need to pull to get stuff done

The key for most scenarios is getting mines up first when you can, and a lot of ranches instead of farms to start.

Have fun

Ha, awesome I guess I'll have to get used to it, because if this turns out good for me, then it'll keep me entertained for a while! Thanks for the tip
